The Story, The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People

By Max Lucado and Randy Frazee
The "Greatest Story Ever Told" is more than just a cliché. God goes to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people. The Story is all about the story of the Bible, God's great love affair with humanity. Condensed into 31 accessible chapters, The Story sweeps you into the unfolding progression of Bible characters and events from Genesis to Revelation. Using the clear, accessible text of the NIV Bible, it allows the stories, poems, and teachings of the Bible to read like a novel. And like any good story, The Story is filled with intrigue, drama, conflict, romance, and redemption - and this story's true!

Colossians:  Christ Is All You Need

by:  Pastor Paul Gotthardt

This January Bible Study shows that the Letter to the Colossians addressed several heresies being presented to the church at Colossae. At the core of these false teachings was a misunderstanding of the nature of Jesus Christ and His work. Paul pointed to both the deity and humanity of Christ and how the realities of Christ's identity should impact how people live in practical ways.
In this January Bible study, Pastor Paul Gotthardt challengers believers to move away from performance-based religion. The Christian life is not about trying harder, but trusting Christ more. The issue is not being versus doing; the issue is doing from the overflow of being. As you walk through the Christological themes of Colossians, you will be reminded that everything God desire to do in and through our lives, He will accomplish out of the overflow of our relationship with Christ. Christ is all we need.
This study is being offered as a home-group study and will be led by Mark Palmer on Fridays (every other week) in his home.

Boy's Passage Man's Journey

by:  Kirk Cameron, Brian Molitor

never has the transition from childhood to manhood been more dangerous or more confusing than it is today. With tragic results, today's boys rarely learn from the adults closest to them what it means to become a man. In this celebratory and hopeful book, Brian Molitor, a father of four, shows parents and other concerned adults how to bless young men with mentoring, intentional blessing, and rites of passage, so that they become the men God created them to be. Offering compassionate and creative solutions, Molitor shares:
     - What other cultures do to recognize a boy's coming of age.
     - Biblical foundations for mentoring, intentional blessing, and rites of passage.
     - How parents can celebrate their son's coming of age.
     - What churches can do to help boys grow into mature manhood.
     - Tips for single parents and others with unique circumstances.
What does it take to make a man? Are thy made by design or by default? Brian Molitor insists that a strategic plan is not only helpful, but absolutely necessary to transform young boys into productive and godly men. In five engaging conversations with father and actor, kirk Cameron, Brian teaches how to create and implement this plan, and more importantly, how to consistently live it and maintain it.

Spirit, Soul and Body

By Andrew Womack
Have you ever asked yourself what changed when you were "born again"? You look in the mirror and see the same reflection 0 your body hasn't changed. You find yourself acting the same and yielding to those same old temptations - that didn't seem to change either. So you wonder, Has anything really changed? The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. If you lack this basic understanding, you'll forever ask yourself doubt-filled questions like:  "How could God love somebody like me?" and "How can I possibly expect to receive anything from the Lord? I don't deserve it, I'm not good enough!" Spirit, Soul & Body will help you to eliminate those and other doubt-filled questions that destroy your faith.
Held at McArthur's Landscaping on Cleghorn Street on Sundays from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.
